GENERAL:  Going to La Vuelta de Bisbee, Tour of the Gila, or Sky Island ? Better stop here first to find those climbing legs on Arizona 's

panoramic Mt Ventoux style mountain top finish at 5204ft.   This is a beautiful and exhilarating course in the Bartlett Lake area (NE Phoenix). To reach the race

parking, continue on Cave Creek Road past the turn for Bartlett Lake (and head towards Mt Humboldt), the road becomes Seven Springs road and gets very twisty

and has rough dirt sections. Continue on this road for roughly 7 miles and look for signs for race parking. The race will start back at the intersection of Seven Springs

Road and Bartlett Lake road (Tonto Ranger Station area) and the B race heads down t owards Bartlett Lake for a turn around at the turn off for Horseshoe Lake then

climb up and out to Mt Humboldt. The A race will head down toward Bartlett Lake and turn off to Bartlett Flat for a dditional distance and challenge. On Seven Springs

Road towards Mt Humboldt, racers will face challenging up, down and twisty terrain that is ironically either on perfectly smooth new black top or rough dirt roads before

turning right onto the final 3.7 mile paved narrow climb to the summit of Mt Humboldt. The 3 miles of dirt road varies from smoother hard pack to rutted just before the

turn for the final climb, so reliable wheels and tires recommended. Bring a spare and a pump if you don't want to be stranded!

*Appropriate gearing for sustained 12% grade on final climb. 39x25 minimum recommended, 39x27 or greater depending on rider's ability. No Cars allowed up

Mt Humboldt. Riders will have to safely ride down to parking area at Bronco Trailhead (5 miles). Plan ahead and bring water.  Water will be provided at the finish.

There is no specified feed zone but bottles can be handed up from the right side of the road on any uphill.  There is also a water fountain at the Tonto Ranger Station.

Bike changes are not allowed.  DO NOT LITTER OR IMPEDE TRAFFIC.  STAY TO THERIGHT.  THIS IS YOUR FIRST WARNING.   OFFENSE AT RACE WILL RESULT IN DQ.

PRE-RIDE THE COURSE TO BE FAMILIAR WITH THE CHALLENGE.  VISIT WEB SITE FOR ADDITIONAL INFO.
